Meet the maker

I have lived in Devon for more than 50 years and have always felt at home among its animals, woodlands and open countryside.

My ideas often begin while I am walking with my camera—through crisp autumn woods, across fields at sunset or wherever I might encounter a fox, hare or deer.

I work with colourful Harris Tweed cloth, natural wool and thicker sewing felts to create Christmas baubles, gundog frames, key holders, wildlife characters and country-inspired wall art. Every piece is made individually, with particular care given to texture, colour and the small details that give it character.

I also create personalised pieces using special fabrics supplied by customers. A familiar shirt, farm overall, blanket or another treasured material can become part of a unique keepsake with a story of its own.

Gairks & Gairks @ Treetops Tweed Crafting is the name stamped upon my handmade country creations, all inspired and created from my home in Devon.
